City elections in Braddock, Hague, Hazelton, Linton and Strasburg will be done by mail or at the Emmons County Courthouse on June 10.

A vote-by-mail instruction postcard has been sent to all Emmons County residents, and can be used to vote prior to election day. A joint powers agreement between Emmons County and its communities will allow all county residents to vote for national, state, county and city officials at the courthouse on June 10. Polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., on June 10.

The following are candidates who have filed for city elections in Emmons County:

Braddock

Five city and park board seats will be decided in Braddock. Candidates who filed include:

• Commission (2 seats, 4-year terms)—Incumbents Pius Hager, Sr. and Myron Rahrich. No one else has filed.

• Park Board (2 seats, 4-year terms)—Incumbent Mark Bruun and Tim Reamann. No one else has filed.

No one has filed for the 4-year, unexpired term of Theresa Hager, who resigned due to health reasons.

The ballot will also include a measure for the City of Braddock to continue to publish the minutes of the City Council proceedings in the official newspaper as a legal notice.

Hague

One Commission seat and the mayor’s position will expire in Hague this year.

• Commission (1 seat, 4-year term)–Fidelis Volk. No one else has filed.

• Mayor (4-year term)—Incumbent Don Nagel. No one else has filed.

The ballot will also include a measure for the City of Hague to continue to publish the minutes of the City Council proceedings in the official newspaper as a legal notice.

Hazelton

Four City official seats will be decided in Hazelton. They are:

• Commission (2 seats, 4-year terms)—No one else has filed for the seat currently held by Robert McCormick and Tim Renz.

• Park Board (2 seats, 4-year terms)—Incumbents Melvin Fortner and Ernest Balliet, and Hadley Seeklander. No one else has filed.

The ballot will also include a measure for the City of Hazelton to continue to publish the minutes of the City Council proceedings in the official newspaper as a legal notice.

Linton

Linton City seats and candidates included in the election are:

• Alderman-Ward I (4-year term)—Dennis Morris has filed for the seat currently held by Jim Bodvig.

• Alderman-Ward II (4-year term)—No one has filed for the seat currently held by James Gartner.

• Alderman-Ward III (4-year term)—Zila Oliveira and Shane Jahner have filed for the seat currently held by Dave Beastrom.

• Park Board (3 seats, 4-year terms)—IncumbentsMark Weber and Ken Schneider. No one else has filed.

The ballot will also include a measure for the City of Linton to continue to publish the minutes of the City Council proceedings in the official newspaper as a legal notice.

Strasburg

Six city and park board seats will be decided in Strasburg. Candidates who filed include:

• Alderman (2 seats, 4-year terms)—Incumbent Ray Nieuwsma, Todd Lang, Victor Mattern and Heidi Eberle.

• Alderman (1 seat, 2-year term)—Jerome Meidinger, who held a 4-year term on the council, has filed for the seat currently held by Andy Reis.

• Park Board (2 seats, 4-year terms)—No one has filed for the seats currently held by Todd Lang and Ernie Geffre.

• Park Board (1 seat, 2-year term)—No one has filed for the seat currently held by Mark Voller.
