Scott Evenson was the individual Medalist with a 77, followed by Jeff Evenson (82) and Chad Dockter (87). Scott and Jeff Evenson each qualified for the State Class B Tournament at the Napoleon Golf Tournament just two days later.
25 YEARS AGO May 5, 1983Emmons Centrals John Bachmeier has been chosen to play for the Class B All-Stars in the annual Lions All-Star Basketball Games. Other players on the squad will include Bill Butterfield and Ted Uecker of Hettinger; Scott Mollander of Divide County, Jim Pulver of Beulah, Jeff Ralph of Grenora, Gus Rud of Center, Mark Schaffer of Gackle, Peter Stewart of Parshall, Paul Vannett of Des Lacs-Burlington, Brad Westphal of Munich, and Todd York of Fessenden. 50 YEARS AGO May 7, 1958Linton scored 63.5 points to edge Napoleon (62.5) for the South Central Conference Track Meet title in Jamestown. Jim Fischer led the way with titles in the 100 and 220-yard dashes, and the 880-yard run; while Larry Mischel won the long jump and high jump, and placed 3rd in the 100 and 220-yard dashes. Thomas Henn won the shot put, and placed 2nd in the 440-yard dash and discus; and Bob Fischer placed 3rd in the 330-yard hurdles. The foursome also made up the 880-yard relay team which placed 1st. George Erickson won the title in the mile run; Mike Spaeth and Don Juhola placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the pole vault; Ken Fettig and Dennis Kramer placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the javelin; Dennis Guthmiller placed 3rd in the high jump, and Harry Serr placed 3rd in the 100-yard hurdles. For Hazelton, Al Humann placed 1st in the pole vault, and 2nd in the long jump, and Don Pfeifer placed 3rd in the long jump. Irwin Senger placed 3rd in the 880-yard run, and Merrill Dykema placed 3rd in the mile run for Strasburg. |
