
Lady Lions win title in Ashley Golf TournamentThe Linton Lady Lions shot a 384 to capture the championship of the Ashley Invitational Golf Meet on May 9. South Border placed 2nd with a 409, followed by Ellendale (432) and Napoleon (450). Four Lady Lions placed in the top ten, led by Medalist Hailey Dockter (80). Megan Carr (94) placed 3rd, Stacy Vander Vorste (101) placed 6th, and Whitney Gerving (109) finished in a tie with Ellendales Kailey Fuller for 10th place. Other place winners were Amber Piatz (2nd86) of Napoleon; Alicia Weisser (4th95), Kara Lepp (5th99) and Sara Schlepp (8th106), all of South Border; and Becky Spitzer (7th105) and Shannon Brauer (9th108) of Ellendale. Katherine Svanes (115), Danielle Volk (117), Eliza Fisher (120), Taylor Beck (133) and Katie Kalberer (145) also competed for Linton. South Border placed 6 golfers in the top ten individually on its way to top honors at the Wishek Invitational Boys Golf Meet on May 9. The Mustangs shot a 347, finishing 28 strokes ahead of runner-up Central Prairie (375). The South Border Junior Varsity (381) placed 3rd, and Linton came in 4th with a 419. Tyler Riesenhauer of Ellendale was the individual Medalist with an 80, followed by South Borders Tallon Lippert (83), Isaac Lehr (84) and Travis Geiszler (88). Brett Williams (88) of Central Prairie placed 5th, Josh Ulmer (89) of South Border placed 6th, and Kyle Spitzer (90) of Central Prairie placed 7th. Cody Lippert and Chance Kurle, both of South Border, and Tyler Larson of Central Prairie each shot a 91 to finish in a tie for 8th place. Participants for Linton were Jon Pavlicek (97), Kelsey Larson (102), Cody Sehn (105), Lukas Holzer (115), Luke Mosset (117) and Jacob Tesky (123). |
