The Linton Lions scored 79.5 points to capture the Boys team championship in the Eureka (SD) Legion Track Meet on May 5.

Linton placed in all five relay events, including the title in the 800-meter relay (Colin Hulm, Jared Jacob, Zach Tesky, Alex Deis) with a time of 1:33.33. The Lions also placed 2nd in both the 400-meter (:45.31) and 3,200-meter (8:54.63) relays; and 5th in both the 1,600-meter (3:51.24) and 1,600-meter sprint medley (3:56.23) relays.

Colin Hulm netted the only individual title for Linton by winning the 300-meter hurdles in :44.50. Hulm also placed 4th in the 200-meter dash (:23.75). Alex Deis and Kevin Schneider each placed in two events for the Lions. Deis finished 4th in the 100-meter dash (:11.92) and 5th in the 200-meter dash (:23.81), while Schneider placed 7th in the triple jump (37' 10") and 8th in the long jump (18' 5").

Zach Tesky took second in the 400-meter dash (:53.23), Terrence Vetter placed 3rd in the 1,600-meter run (4:54.80), Brady Weber placed 5th in the 800-meter run (2:13.28) and Jared Jacob placed 8th in the 100-meter dash (:12.12) for Linton.

Linton and Strasburg also competed in the Girls Division, scoring 32 and 5 points, respectively. Linton placed 4th in both the 400-meter (:54.63) and 800-meter (1:56.84) relays, and Melissa Kaiser placed in 3 individual events for the Lady Lions.

Kaiser placed 4th in both the 300-meter hurdles (:51.06) and 100-meter dash (:14.12), and 6th in the 100-meter hurdles (:18.09). Sarah Lawler placed 4th in the high jump (4' 6"), and Tiffany Mosset placed 5th in the 400-meter dash (1:05.61) to round out the scoring for Linton.

Carlene Ternes placed 5th in the 300-meter hurdles (:52.02) and Kristy Goldade placed 8th in the 400-meter dash (1:08.01) to account for Strasburg’s points.
