Napoleon scored 155 points and Steele-Dawson netted 145 to finish 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the Girls Division of the South Central Conference Track Meet in Jamestown on May 8. Linton scored 55 points, H-M-B netted 16, Strasburg scored 7 and Zeeland scored 2 points in the meet.

Linton’s Melissa Kaiser was the only Emmons County athlete to capture first place in an event, as she won both the 100-meter (:17.53) and 300-meter (:50.60) hurdle events. Kaiser also placed 5th in the 100-meter dash (:13.70), and Linton placed 2nd in the 400 (:54.10), 800 (1:58.30) and 1,600-meter (4:39.02) relays.

Kayln Schneider placed 3rd in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump, and 4th in the 300-meter hurdles; Sarah Lawler placed 2nd in the high jump and 8th in the 200-meter dash; and Robin Weber placed 3rd in the 800-meter run and 5th in the triple jump for Linton. Other place winners for Linton were Anna Schmidt (5th in long jump), Tiffany Mosset (6th in 400-meter dash), Amanda Dietz (6th in javelin) and McKenzie Schatz (7th in 800-meter run).

Jessica Weiser (H-M-B), Carlene Ternes (Strasburg) and Emily Scherr (Zeeland) each accounted for all of their respective team’s points in the meet. Weiser placed 3rd in the 100-meter dash (:13.59) and 4th in both the 200-meter dash (:28.60) and long jump (13' 7"); Ternes placed 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles (:51.91) and 8th in the long jump (12' 10.5"); and Scherr placed 7th in the 300-meter hurdles (:55.17).
