The Linton American Legion Baseball team dropped its fifth straight Section 2 game to fall to 2-7 in the section after dropping a 12-0 decision to LaMoure on July 8, in a game that was moved to Edgeley due to rain. Linton fell to 9-17 overall with the loss.

The previous night (July 7), Linton hosted Edgeley in a doubleheader, and the visitors came away with a sweep (8-4 and 16-11). Linton closed out its regular-season slate with games against Mandan (July 14), Lisbon (July 15) and Oakes (July 16), and the results of those games were not available at press time.

Linton, along with Edgeley, Ellendale, LaMoure, Lisbon, Napoleon and Oakes, will take part in the Section 2 Tournament, which begins July 23, in Oakes. Seedings, pairings and times were not set at press time.
