Readers Write

Dear Editor:

It’s time to renew my subscription to the Emmons County Record.

I look forward to your paper every week. It’s like a letter from home, although I’ve been gone for over 60 years. I have many cherished memories of where I grew up. I send greeting to my relatives and friends.

Dear Editor:

It’s always good to receive the Emmons County Record again telling of news back home.

We left in 1963 and moved to Nigeria, Africa, where we served as missionaries. Gerrit passed away 12 years ago. Now I live in Grand Rapids, Mich. We left with three children. I also worked at Pine Rest Hospital. I am now retired . I have 27 greatgrandchildren.

North Dakota is still home. We had lots of snow last winter but are having a nice summer.

Guess I am getting older when my two oldest children have retired.

Greeting to friends back home.

Dear Editor:

We made our very first visit to North Dakota in July of 2001. Upon that visit we purchased a small home in Linton. Each summer we have returned for a short visit to rekindle the friendships we have made with so many wonderful North Dakotans.

We have subscribed to the “Record” since 2002 and it has enabled us to keep up with the changes and progress in the community. Being a nurse I have enjoyed reading about the improvement of services at the Linton Hospital. I also like to check the Culinary Clips and occasionally we will see a friend in the paper.

Thanks for the good reading.
