New boat dock installed at Beaver Bay

On Tues., May 14, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department (NDGFD) installed a boat dock at the Beaver Creek Recreation Area west of Linton.

Voices for Lake Oahe (VFLO), along with the NDGFD, donated the dock to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACE).

Linton graduates awarded scholarships

Fourteen different scholarships were awarded to 13 Linton High School Graduates during the 2013 LHS commencement ceremony on May 19.

Karlee Feist, daughter of Gordon and Laura Feist, received the Jodi Jahner-Mosset Memorial Scholarship, the Wudtke-Berglund Scholarship, the Linton Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, and the Linda Kress Memorial Scholarship.

The Emmons County Record will have an early deadline for the May 30 paper because of the Memorial Day holiday. News and advertising will be due on Friday at 9 a.m.

The Record office will be closed on Monday.

Ladies are invited to a spring coffee hour on Thursday, May 30 at 3 p.m. in the Hazelton Coffee Shop. Attendees will experience one hour of learning while enjoying free flavored coffee, desserts and door prizes.

Topics will include the Women’s Way program, West Nile virus, sun safety, gardening tips, life insurance and investments.

The Zeeland Class of 2013 marched up on stage to receive their diplomas on Sat., May 18. The Zeeland High School Band accompanied the class through the gym, playing the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Welcoming families and friends to the graduation ceremony was Junior Ali Wolf. She recited and encouraged the words in the motto that the Class of 2013 chose.
