Jim and Curt Hollaar went to Platte, S.D., last Friday and Saturday to visit Elizabeth Dornbush, Jim’s mother-inlaw and Curt’s grandmother, at the Platte Care Center. Jim’s daughter, Sandi Vander Wal of Tioga was also in Platte visiting. They were all overnight guests of Jim’s sister-in-law, Al and Delores Kuipers at Platte.

Devon and Kim Droog, Garek, Landon, Alaina and Kyler of Grafton were last weekend guests of Eldon and Darlene Droog.Alaina sang a solo and accompanied herself on the guitar at the Sunday morning church service. They also visited Devon’s brother, Sheldon and Kim Droog, Holden and Delson.

At the Sunday morning church service, Delson Droog and Luke Haak lit the Advent candle following the childrens’ service.

On Sunday, Wally and Georgene Seibel and family of rural Moffit had a Christmas brunch with Georgene’s mother, IreneAnderson, at the Strasburg Care Center.

On Christmas Day, the family of Elmer and Phyllis Haak had a dinner at the Fellowship Hall at the Hull Christian Reformed Church. Those present were Bob and Joan Haak of Aberdeen, S.D., Doug and Deb Haak of Aberdeen, Lyle and Becky Haak of Spearfish, S.D., Marlys and Bob Weber of rural Linton and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren were also present from Spearfish, Aberdeen, Belle Fourche, S.D., and Alcester, S.D., areas. There were about 33 present.

On Monday evening, Ernest and Carol Dykema were Christmas Eve supper guests of James and Nicole Dykema. Also present were Ron and Loreli Dykema and Clint Dykema of the Strasburg Care Center.

On Christmas Day, Ernest and Carol Dykema were dinner guests of Ron and Lorelei Dykema, Clint Dykema, James and Nicole Dykema, Gary and Jan Gilchrist of Bismarck, some relatives from Fargo and friends from the area also were present.

We wish everyone a blessed and joyous 2013.

Sunday noon dinner guests of Cindy, Dennis, Parker and Jackson Drengson of Mandan for a Christmas celebration were Gracey and Franklin Nieuwsma, Lee and Cole Nieuwsma and Kent Nieuwsma.
