Paper may arrive early

The Jan. 3, 2013, edition of the Emmons County Record will arrive in mailboxes earlier than normal for subscribers in the Dakotas.

To accommodate the U.S. Postal Service Christmas mailing schedule and the printer’s schedule, the Jan. 3 paper was mailed Fri., Dec. 28, which means it started arriving in mailboxes on Sat., Dec. 29.

The USPS does not allow periodicals to be mailed on Saturday. Consequently, mailing the paper was the best way to be sure it arrives before New Year’s Day.

“We want to thank all our subscribers and advertisers for their patronage throughout the year,” Publisher Leah Burke said.
