Donald Nieuwsma of Lincoln underwent aneurysm surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. on Dec. 18. He returned home that same week and is doing as well as can be expected.

Guests of Curt and Barb Nieuwsma were their grandchildren, Jalen and Jakob Hohm, of Willow Lake, S.D. They spent a few days over their Christmas break visiting their grandparents. They are the children of Colleen and Jamie Hohm.

Saturday noon dinner guests of Gerrit and Frances Nieuwsma were Steve Nieuwsma and Loren Nieuwsma of New Rockford and Wayne Nieuwsma of Strasburg.

The Ladies Aid Society met on Thursday afternoon with Pastor Stout leading the Bible study and Darlene Droog was the hostess and Marlyn Van Boven gave a special number.

Lloyd Van Boven, 92, of Lynden, Wash. passed away Dec. 30. Lloyd was married to the former Evelyn Hollaar. Lloyd grew up in the Hull area.

Friday night, Gerrit and Frances Nieuwsma were supper guests of their grandson, Shawn and Lindsey Nieuwsma, Reagan and Reed of Lincoln.

Jim Hollaar had Sunday noon dinner with his daughter, Sandy Vander Wal who was enroute to her home in Tioga and his son, Curt Hollaar of Strasburg and they had dinner at the Strasburg Cafe.

On New Year’s Day, Ernest and Carol Dykema had dinner with their grandson, Clint Dykema and Carol’s sister, Irene Anderson, at the Strasburg Care Center.
