Alice Heier, 82, formerly of Hague

Alice Heier Alice Heier Alice Heier, 82, formerly of Hague, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in a Mandan care center.

Alice was born Aug. 15, 1930, the daughter of Anton and Katherine (Wald) Miller. She grew up on the family farm. Alice attended country school.

She married Rainer Heier on Jan. 21, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bismarck. They purchased the family farm in 1949 and operated a Grade A dairy farm for 39 years.

Rainer died February 9, 2010. Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society and the Hague Senior Citizen’s Club. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting many, many doilies and afghans for her children and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by six sons and three daughters-in-law, Francis Heier, Fargo, Clarence and Sheryl Heier, Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph and Debbie Heier, Sumner, Wash., Gary Heier, Tacoma, Wash., Steve Heier, Bismarck and Andrew and Yvonne Heier, Tampa, Fla.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jane Roehrich, Linton, Linda and Jim Mitchell, Minneapo- lis, Minn., Marie and Rick Landsberger, Bismarck and Michelle and Ron Anijo, Tacoma; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; five brothers and six sistersin law, Edmund and Fidelis Miller, Burnsville, Minn., Chester and Theresa Miller, Portland, Ore., Robert and Theresa Miller, Aberdeen, S.D., Agnes Miller, Bismarck, Conrad and Helen Miller, Minneapolis and Dennis Miller, Hague; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Volk, Hague andAnn and Ray Braun, Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David and Richard; three brothers, John, and two in infancy; one son-in-law, Patrick Roehrich; one sisterin law, Pearl Miller, and one brother-in-law, Peter Volk.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hague, with celebrant the Rev. David Richter and concelebrant Deacon Jerome Volk officiating. Organist was Holly Krumm. Song leader was Kellie Wikenheiser. Communion minister was Bonnie Volk. Scripture readers were Ariel Landsberger and Sheila Roehrich. Gift bearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass servers were Logan Barnes and Keeley Roehrich. Music was “Amazing Grace,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “On Eagles’ Wings,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Song of Farewell.”

Casketbearers were Ron Anijo, Hunter Volk, Allen Heier, Mike Heier, Devin Roehrich, Chris Roehrich Ryan Landsberger and Riley Ellingson.

Burial was in the church Cemetery under the direction of Myers Funeral Home, Linton.
