Area students place in Elks Hoop Shoot



Three area students placed in the Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge #1199 Hoop Shoot, held Dec. 2, at Wachter Middle School in Bismarck. From left, Cole Baumiller of Hazelton was the runner-up in the Boys’ Age 13-14 Division, Carter Renz of Linton was the runner-up in the Boys’ Age 11-12 Division, and JayCee Richter of Linton was the champion in the Girls’ Age 9-10 Division. Jaycee is the daughter of Jon and Jaime Richter of Linton, and she advanced to the State Elks Hoop Shoot, which will be held Jan. 19, in Jamestown. Cole (son of Scott and Corrine Baumiller of Hazelton) and Carter (son of Lance and Lacey Jangula of Linton, and Ben Renz of Bismarck) are both alternates for the state competition in their respective age divisions, and they will participate in the state hoop shoot should the champion not be able to attend.
