Sustainable ag conference set Jan. 24-26 in Aberdeen

The 34th Annual Winter Conference of the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society will be held Jan. 24-26 at the Ramkota Convention Center in Aberdeen, S.D.

The conference is a farmercentered, local foods event featuring more than 50 exhibitors and 30 informative workshops. Pre-conference workshops will be held on Thurs., Jan. 24, centering on livestock health, seed production and farm transition/estate planning. This educational and networking conference attracts over 500 sustainable and organic farmer/ranchers, local foodies and agriculture professionals.

Keynote speakers include Matt Dillon, Seed Matters, and Dr. Richard Olree, Emineral.

In addition, conference workshops will cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited, to livestock production, organic weed control, organic cover crops, soil health in organic production, fruit production, marketing produce and fruits, composting, fermentation and local food production/systems.
