Braddock

Judy Becker Johaneson and daughters Lindsey and Karlie of Elizabeth, Colo., and Pam Becker Shaubert of Bismarck visited with their Mom, Helen Becker and also with their aunt, Carol Mock recently. Their Mom Helen lives at the Nursing Home and Carol is in the Assisted Living Complex in Napoleon. They flew back to Colorado as the girls are both in college there.

The Braddock Alumni Association met in December for their 80th annual gathering for supper and the meeting. President Audrey Rambough was emcee and introduced the honor class members who were present. From the class of 1952, Harry “Bud” Reamann and Andy Schmidt; from the class of 1962, Donna Moch Silvernagel. Bob McCay represented the class of 1972 and Arleen Keller Fettig from the class of 1982. Several letters were read from those who were unable to attend. The present officers, Audrey Rambough, president;Arleen Svalen, vicepresident, Laura Rambough Crawford,secretaryandDarrell Glovich, treasurer were all reelected to their positions. The group decided to give $250 to theHazelton-Moffit-Braddock Dollars for Scholars.

Harry and Lena Wolbaum were hosts when the Braddock Senior Citizens, Sunshine Club met on Monday, Jan. 7.

President Andy Schmidt conducted the meeting and led the pledge to the flag. Jean Swanson was appointed to take over the treasurer duties from Margie Wolbaum who resigned. Get-well cards were sent to Harvey Reamann and Margie Wolbaum.

Hilda Moch accompanied her daughter, Carla Houghton of Steele to Tuttle on Sunday evening where they were supper guests at the home of Renae and Courtney Witt to help Courtney observe his birthday.

Relatives gathered at the Pete Naaden’s on Sunday where Pete was making Norwegian Dumplings. Marlys Fisher of Minot, Nita Anderson of Riverdale and Karen and Ken Karls came together. Also there were Mark Naaden and the Quinliven family.

Annette and Charles Pavlicek picked up Harry and Lena Wolbaum to visit Karen and Ken Mittleider at their new home in Bismarck. They also visited federal offi cer, Randy and Christina Mittleider who also have a beautiful new home.

Tom Leier of Denver, Colo., visited his parents, Joe C. and Barbara Leier during Christmas. Daren Leier of Fargo also spent Christmas with the family.

Hilda Mock met Mary Ellen Soggie and Mike and Eileen Silvernagel in Hazelton on Friday morning. Hilda accompanied them to Strasburg where they attended the funeral of their uncle, Magnus Silvernagel at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Christmas guests at the Mark and Mary Bruun home were Matt Bruun of Geneseo, Luke, Sherri and Mya Bruun of Farmington, Minn., and Peyton,Michelle, Ana, Aca and Abby Ross of Mandan. The girls spent a few days of Christmas break with Mark and Mary.

John and Lucille Hammer joined all of the members of their family for Christmas at the Bob and JodiWeigel home, rural Kintyre.

Mary Bruun visited her mom, Margaret Lyon, at St. Catherine’s in Wahpeton and also Matt Bruun and his girlfriend, LaVonne, and Mary’s brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Marlene Lyon all of Geneseo before New Year’s.

Fonda Wolbaum served refreshments and Mary Bruun led the prayers and conducted the business meeting when St. Katherine’s Christian Mothers Altar Society met after Word and Communion conducted by Deacon Ken Wolbaum on Tuesday evening.

Jim Mathern of Edgeley and three of his grandchildren from Kintyre visited his sister, Toni Hager, on Wednesday afternoon.

Andy and Joan Schmidt had lunch with Curt and Andrea Dockter last week to help Andrea observe her ? birthday.

Braddock Lion’s Club will gather for their January meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Community Hall.

School at H-M-B was dismissed early on Friday due to the impending storm.

Andy and Joan Schmidt had lunch with Darren and Rona Schmidt on Wednesday and wished Rona an early Happy Birthday!
