Isn’t It Time?

What a beginning 2013 has had here in Linton! I went home to Sidney, Mont. for Christmas and it seemed like most people were happy and healthy. But when I got back and went into the church for Sunday services on Dec. 30, 2012, I heard many people coughing, sniffling and sneezing. The cold and flu bug had hit really hard. It took me back into the Bible to see if God was trying to tell us something.

I ended up in II Chronicles 7—Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord, and the glory of the Lord filled the house. Then after the dedication and things were completed, the Lord appeared to Solomon and spoke to him. In verses 13-14 the Lord said, “If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My People and My People who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Many times God will send these things into our lives to get our attention but we do not humbly turn to Him to seek His face and ask him to forgive us and heal our land. Many times we just grumble and complain, or turn to other things to see if we can get help. Isn’t it time for us to get on our knees and call upon Him to change our lives. I believe God is challenging us, His people, to turn to Him for Healing and the blessings He wants to give to us today.

Today, let us turn to him with an open heart, mind and spirit making us ready to receive the Blessings he has already planned for us.
