On Wednesday evening, the Hull Christian Reformed Church held an annual congregational business meeting. An election of an elder and a deacon was held and Ron Van Boven was elected as an elder and Steve Nieuwsma was elected as a deacon. Both are three year terms. Retiring elder is Ren Haak and retiring deacon is Gary Dykema.

On Wednesday, Ernest and Carol Dykema went with their son, Ron Dykema, to Bismarck and took him out for dinner in honor of his birthday that day. That afternoon, their daughter, Jan Gilchrist, took Ernest for an appointment and Jan treated all of them to ice cream at Dairy Queen in honor of Ron’s birthday.

Loren Nieuwsma of New Rockford was a weekend guest of the Steve Nieuwsma’s. He was also a Sunday morning church visitor.

On Saturday, Dennis and Marlyn Van Boven were dinner guests of their daughter, Mal and Barb Wynveen of Strasburg. Also present were the Van Boven’s daughters, Lorraine Senger and Ilene Stavig, their granddaughter, Ashlee Fettig, and greatgranddaughter, Faylee Fettig, of Bismarck, granddaughter, Joy, and great-granddaughter, Breelynn Vetter of Linton. The get-together was in honor of Marlyn’s birthday which was January 12.

Sunday morning church visitors were Todd and Margie Vossler of Bismarck. They spent the weekend at their home in Hull.
