Harry Dockter, 82, of Bismarck

Harry Dockter, 82, of Bismarck passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center after a long battle with illness.

Harry was born March 5, 1930, on the family farm 12 miles north of Zeeland, to Heinrich and Katharina (Meidinger) Dockter. He attended rural school in Strasburg up to the eighth grade.

Harry married Agnes Malsam on June 2, 1966, at St. Mary’s Church and bought the family homestead from his parents. They remained on the farm until they retired from farming in 1991 and moved to Bismarck.

Harry is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years Agnes; his daughter, Mary Katherine and her companion, Thomas Schonert; his treasured grandchild, Dalton Michael Allen; brother, Alfred (Elaine) Dockter, sister, LaVerna (Clifton) Kasesman, along with countless nieces, nephews and other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Michael Joseph and Mark Allen; brothers, David, Otto, Reuben, Melvin and Walter; and sisters, Viola Aipperspach and Helen Just and niece Lois Janke.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 806 East Broadway Avenue, Bismarck.
