Lions go 3-0 in Harvey Quadrangular
Linton-HMB went 3-0 in a quadrangular in Harvey on Jan. 22. The Lions defeated Harvey/Wells County (Fessenden-Bowden), Pembina County North (Cavalier- Walhalla-Pembina-Neche), and Velva to improve to 11-2 in duals this season.
Harvey-Wells County 7
Linton-HMB won five of seven matches wrestled and picked up an additional 36 points on six forfeits on the way to a 64-7 victory over Harvey/Wells County.
The Lions got pins from Chase Jacob (126), Jared Schumacher (152), Clay Jacob (160) and Michael Oien (170), and a major decision from Brock Nagel (145) for 28 points.
Linton-HMB also got forfeit wins from Brandon Oien (106), Josh Schlosser (113), Kyle Moch (120), Ethen Roemmich (182), Jon Oien (195) and Cody Schlosser (220) to complete its scoring.
Harvey/Wells County’s points came on a major decision by Casey Huscha over Trevor Martin at 138, and Carson Koble’s 6-2 decision over Andrew Leier at 132.

In a dual that came down to the final bout, Linton-HMB held off Pembina County North, 39-34.
A decision by Chase Jacob (126) and a pin by Andrew Leier (132) gave Linton-HMB a quick, 9-0 lead, and after Gabe Schill got PCN on the board with a pin at 138, Linton-HMB got pins from Brock Nagel (145), Clay Jacob (160), Michael Oien (170) and Ethen Roemmich (182) over the next five bouts to open up a 33-12 advantage.
However, PCN won the next four bouts to claim its first lead of the dual. Forfeit wins by Hunter Soli (195) and Tyson Lafferty (285), and a pin by Michael Lafferty at 220 closed the gap to 33- 30, and then Bradyn Horgan won by major decision at 106 to give PCN a 34-33 edge with two bouts left.
Linton-HMB regained the lead, 36-34, on Josh Schlosser’s 13-6 decision over Brett Verville at 113, and Kyle Moch sealed up the victory for the Lions with a 7-3 decision over Austin Urlaub at 120.

Linton-HMB completed the dual sweep with a 48-17 victory over Velva.
Andrew Leier got the ball rolling with an 8-3 victory over Mason Brudevold at 132, but Dallas Osborn’s pin over Trevor Martin at 138 gave Velva its only lead (6- 3) of the night. Linton-HMB then won the next five bouts to take control.
Brock Nagel’s 9-1 major decision over Adam Dean at 145 put Linton-HMB back on top (7-6) to stay, and the Lions got decisions from Jared Schumacher (152), Clay Jacob (160) and Michael Oien (170), followed by a forfeit win from Garret Roemmich (182) to open up a 22-6 advantage.Atechnical fall by Jimi Bridges (195) and a forfeit win by Taylor Barstad (220) cut the margin to 22-17, but the Aggies wouldn’t score again, and Linton-HMB won the final five bouts to pull away.
Cody Schlosser recorded a pin at 285, and Brandon Oien followed with a decision at 106 to extend the lead to 31-17. Josh Schlosser’s pin at 113 clinched the victory, and Kyle Moch (120) and Chase Jacob (126) closed out the scoring with a technical fall and pin, respectively, for the Lions.
