Region I Dual Tourney will be held Saturday, in Oakes

The 2013 Region I Wrestling Dual Tournament will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Oakes High School Gymnasium.

Action kicks off at 10 a.m. with top-seeded South Border taking on 8th-seeded Ellendale/Edgeley-Kulm; and 4th-seeded Linton-HMB squaring off with 5th-seeded Napoleon. At 11 a.m., 3rdseeded Lisbon will take on 6th-seeded LaMoure; and 2nd-seeded Oakes will take on 7th-seeded Kindred.

The championship and consolation semi-finals will follow, with the winners and losers of the 10 a.m. matches squaring off at noon; and the winners and losers of the 11 a.m. matches squaring off at 1 p.m.

The Consolation Championship and 7th place match will begin at 2 p.m., and the Championship Match and 3rd Place Match are slated for 3 p.m. If the 3rd place winner and the runner-up have not met in the tournament, they will meet in a challenge match at 4 p.m., for a berth in the State Class B Tournament. The 1st and 2nd place teams will advance to the State Dual Tournament, which will be held February 14 and 15, at the Fargodome. All-day admission for the Region I Dual Tournament is $6 for adults, and $4 for students.

The Region I Individual Tournament will be held Feb. 9, in Napoleon.Atournament preview will be featured in next week’s (Feb. 7) Record.
