Well hello Hazelton! My name is Beverly Patterson. I was born and raised in Claremont, S.D. I am an artist, and I work with whatever medium is currently available. I’ve been a florist, custom framer, retail supervisor, postal employee, class instructor and I’ve also operated a doll hospital.
I started writing quite a few years ago too, as a hobby. Once people got a taste of my antics I was asked to write a column for the eNews in Forman which is where I lived for 20 years until this August. I am currently living in Claremont once again and rediscovering all the wonderful people who contribute to one of my favorite things... small towns!
I started writing the Claremont News in September of last year, and I’m amazed at how busy a little town can actually be! The articles I write are run in three of our local papers.
Some things never change and that has been the easiest part of my transition back to this awesome childhood haven. I remember, as a kid, all the fun we could manufacture with nothing more than our imaginations and a few odds and ends and bits of junk that no one wanted. I believe that part of me has never fully matured and I couldn’t be happier.
I love people, I love to visit and I love to write. I have accepted a rather interesting job, and I’d love to tell you about it. I will be writing your weekly news! It probably seems like a crazy idea, but let’s give it a whirl and see how things go.
I would love to stop in some day in the near future and meet as many of you as I can. You can submit your news to me one of three ways. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or send me a text to 701-680-7255 or give me a call in the evenings until 9:30 p.m. at (605) 294-5874. Let’s give Hazelton a voice and tell everybody about all the fun things happening each week!
