Grace Klein, 77, of Bismarck
Funeral services were held Feb. 2, 2013. Grace is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Grace was born on Sept. 2, 1935, to Joseph and Louise (Pfeifer) Jung in Zeeland. Grace grew up on a farm with her siblings and parents. Some of her fondest memories with her sisters include walking 1.5 miles into town to go roller skating. Grace was active in 4-H. As Grace grew up, she shared in family responsibilities on the farm and taking care of animals… although she wasn’t fond of the Holstein cows. She was an avid gardener from a young age and spent countless hours teaching her children how to grow and can various garden produce. Grace enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, bowling, and having coffee with “the Golden Girls.” Grace worked in retail sales for many years, specializing in bridal parties and formal occasions and was known to co-workers and customers for her impeccable taste. One of Grace’s greatest joys was displaying the beauty of different types of flowers in her yard and garden.
Grace was an excellent cook and always made sure all family members had their “special treats” during the holidays or visits. She found joy in preparing each family member’s favorite food. The meaning of Grace is “Gift from God,” and to all that had the pleasure of knowing her, they could see and feel that she was truly a “gift.” With her quiet and loving spirit, she easily made friends, young and old. Everyone who met her had a tendency to gravitate towards her for her loving personality. She had a special spot in her heart for all children and any child could easily climb onto her lap and fall into a peaceful slumber… Grandma Grace’s lap was a special place for all her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Grace had seven children with Francis Klein (deceased). James (Eldora) Klein, Grand Forks; Linda Klein, Bismarck; Vivian (Terry) Carlson, Washburn; Renee (Chris) Gimm, Shoreview, Minn.; Keith (Christy) Klein, Bismarck; Kevin Klein (deceased); Shari Klein, Bismarck. Grace had five siblings Eileen (Arnolddeceased) Maier, Petaluma, California; Alciena (Melvin) Rutschke, Zeeland, Oliver (Loretta) Jung, Jamestown; Dale Jung, Fargo; Cynthia (Curtis) Lippert, Bismarck. Grace had 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
