Emmons Co. Spelling Bee



Adam Hulm (left) of Hague won top honors at the Emmons County Spelling Bee on Feb. 13, while Riley Mattheis of Linton finished as the runner-up in the competition. Adam is a 7th grader at Strasburg Public School and his spelling coaches are Mr. Mark Mittleider and Mrs. Dana Kramer. Riley is in the 7th grade at Linton Public School and his spelling coach is Mrs. Melinda Mattheis. Adam is the son of Andy and Lisa Hulm of Hague, and Riley is the son of Ross and Jami Mattheis of Linton, and the late Terra Mattheis. Adam and Riley will represent Emmons County at the State Spelling Bee on March 22, at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck.
