After several days of subzero weather with several days of light snow, temperatures moderated some over the weekend into the 20s and 30s. We are starting to hear some birds back in the area, and some have seen geese headed north, so spring might be around the corner after all.
Congratulations to the Strasburg Clippers, who won the championship game against Linton in the district tournament this past week which was in Napoleon! They will advance to the regional tournament in Jamestown this week. Go Clippers!Also congratulations to their coach, Brent Kleinsasser, who was named “Coach of the Year” for our district.
Former Strasburg resident, Brian Nieuwsma, led the Flasher basketball team to win their district championship, too. Brian was also named “Coach of the Year” for his district. Congratulations to Brian and his team!
The Strasburg Community Choir will be performing at the Strasburg Care Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, with an evening performance at the Hope Reformed Church in Westfield, and an evening performance at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Sunday, March 24, Palm Sunday.
The Westfield church will also be hosting a World Day of Prayer service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
Augusta Roos spent a few days in the Linton Hospital recently.
