LaVerne Glas, 68, of Linton

LaVerne Glas LaVerne Glas LaVerne Glas, 68, Linton, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.

LaVerne was born in Linton Dec. 15, 1944, the daughter of Alvin andAdeline (Ehrmann) Fischer.

She was raised and educated in Temvik.After school, she worked various places in town and played in a band that included her husband and two siblings.

She married Steve Glas in April of 1972 at the United Methodist Church Parsonage and they lived in Linton. Steve died in 1986 and LaVerne continued to live in Linton.

She enjoyed crocheting, baking, gardening, watching western shows, playing cards, playing keyboard, pets and camping.

LaVerne is survived by three sons and one daughter in-law, Joseph L. Glas and special friend, Kasey Ketterling, Mandan, Harold S. and Jenny Glas, Bismarck, Robert H. Glas, Linton; one stepdaughter and stepsonin law, Yvonne and Michael Spaeth of Poway, Calif.; and one sister, Florence M. Fischer of Linton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Steve in 1986; one son, Roger in 2003; and a brother, Harry Fischer.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Linton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cori Waisanen officiating. Organist was Linda Seidel. Congregational hymns were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great ThouArt.” Special Music CD was ”Go Rest High On That Mountain.”

Casketbearers were Joseph L. Glas, Jeremy Haid, Harold S. Glas, Kent Schantz, Robert H. Glas and Mike Dworshak.

Burial was in St.Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Linton.
