Mustangs, Pirates advance to Region 3 Tournament

South Border and Kidder County each earned berths in the Region 3 Tournament by picking up victories in the Region Qualifier games of the District 6 Tournament in Napoleon on Feb. 19.

South Border rolled to a 68-48 victory over Napoleon to qualify for the regionals for the third straight year. The Mustangs (12-10) took on District 5 runner-up Ellendale (8-13) in the Region 3 Quarterfinals on Feb. 25, and results of that game were not available at press time. Napoleon ended its season with a 5-15 mark.

Kidder County advanced to the Region 3 Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight seasons with a 60-48 victory over Central Prairie. The Pirates (11-11) matched up with District 5 Champion LaMoure/Litchville-Marion (19-2) in the Region 3 Quarterfinals on Feb. 25, and results of that game were not available at press time. Central Prairie ended its season with a 2-19 record.
