(This Week)

Braddock was a busy place on Saturday night. Mass at St. Katherine’s was at 7 p.m. There was a landowner’s appreciation at the Braddock Bar and a Mountain Oyster fry at Miss Kitty’s at the threshing grounds. Not only all of that but an uninvited guest tried to break-in to some of the local business places!

Tony and Alvina Splonskowski and Joe and Shirley Splonskowski and Bob and Mikie Moch, all of Bismarck, Junior Feyereisen, Del and Arleen Svalen, John and Lucille Hammer and Donnie Hager surprised Diane Hager on her birthday on Sunday by arriving at the Dawson Cafe to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Andy and Joan Schmidt visited his sister, Theresia Neigum at a Bismarck hospital where she was under observation for a heart problem.

Mary Bruun led the prayers and conducted the meeting when St. Katherine’s Christian Mothers met after Mass last Tuesday evening. Lunch was served by Barbara Leier. Gail Naaden Geddes came from Eagle, Colo.,to visit her relatives in North Dakota for nine days. She and her sisters, Karen, Connie,Marlys and Nita spent President’s weekend at Riverdale quilting. Connie had her family come to Fraine Barracks, then the party came to visit Pete and Mary Ellen and the Mark Naadens. Jeanne and Nancy Flaherty drove in from Watertown, S.D., last weekend. Gail’s husband, John, drove down the mountains to Denver, Colo., to pick-up Gail… only the storm caused Gail’s flight to be rescheduled again and again. John had to be at his pharmacy on Monday morning at 7 a.m. so he managed to turn around and drive up the mountains. Gail was delayed long enough to get in on a few extra days of North Dakota sunshine!

Lori and Lugard Leier picked up Kristy Leier and Carol Russo at the Bismarck Airport on Saturday from Cheyenne, Wyo. for a week-end visit with North Dakota relatives and friends. All attended a surprise 30th birthday party, hosted by her husband, Justin Jacobson, for Jamie Jacobson. Other relatives and friends who joined in the celebration were Mary and Kevin Vetter of Wahpeton; Dave and Sara Gerdon and Shawn Jacob of Fargo; Paul and Sherri Doll of Hazen; Joe and Tiffany Moore of Aberdeen, S.D.;Stacey Leier; Tyler and Crista of Minnesota; Allen and Diane Leier of Bismarck; Linda and Bruce Horner of Mandan; Katie Vetter and Alyssa Leier, students at the University of Mary; Chad and Danielle Leier, Susie and Michael, Bismarck; Tyler Leier and his friend, Jennifer, of Mandan; and Andy and Cheryl Moch; and Bob, Lori and Lugard Leier of Braddock.
