Happy March, Hazelton! Spring is surely on its way and I am more than ready. We are still quite buried in huge piles of snow here in Claremont but I'm always amazed at what a few warm days can accomplish. Now all we need is a few warm days!
This week I visited again, with several nice residents and I have a few things to share with all of you. Larry and Katie Lammert celebrated 56 years of marriage on March 2. Bernice Flegel, Margaret Watkinson and Jim Schmidt joined Larry and Katie on Saturday night for supper at the Lammert home. Margaret brought the main course and Katie provided a confetti angel food cake for dessert. The couple’s daughter, Claudette, and husband, Mark Funk, and son, Reed, of Vancouver Wash., sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers that they are continuing to enjoy. They also received gifts from their son, Lowell of Lead, S.D., and their daughter, Dawn, of Rapid City, S.D. Congratulations to Larry and Katie! Here’s wishing you lots more years of happiness together!
The funeral for John Weisz, 76, was held Monday March 4 at 10:30 in Bismarck. He will be buried in the Veterans' Cemetery south of Mandan. I'm sure John will be dearly missed by the Hazelton community. Please remember to keep his family in your prayers.
I have another quote for you this week. “What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Your attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty and every difficulty has an opportunity.” I tend to let my attitude slip past positive sometimes and that's when I run into trouble. Have a great week!
