College Goal Sunday is March 17, Linton
Working through the mound of paperwork it takes to get to college can be confusing. Many people find the FAFSAform which is required to apply for financial aid to be challenging.
That’s why College Goal North Dakota is offering a free event Sun., March 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Linton School. Seniors from all area schools and their parents are invited and urged to attend.
College Goal North Dakota offers free events where volunteers and financial aid experts come together to help students complete important online applications and answer questions about college financial aid opportunities. The Linton event is one of 21 being held throughout the state during the month of March.
Along with the assistance in FAFSA completion, participants are eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship donated by Bank of North Dakota College Planning Center.
“Students and parents should bring their Social Security numbers, 2012 Federal Tax Return,W-2, other income records, driver’s license and other valid ID. With this information, participants should be able to complete and submit the FAFSA,” Katie Nettell, College Goal North Dakota Chairperson and FinancialAid Director at Lake Region State College, said.
