Braddock

The 1988 State Championship girls basketball team from Braddock High School will be recognized at the 2013 State Basketball tournament in Fargo on March 23 during the Parade of Champions. Many of the 1988 fans and team plan to attend the tournament games and the gathering in a hospitality room at the Ramkota Hotel in Fargo before and after the games. Abby and Ava Ross of Mandan spent last weekend with Mark and Mary Bruun. They visited Mary’s brother, Jim Lyon and family in Geneseo. On Saturday they visited Mary’s mom, Margaret Lyon at St. Catherine’s in Wahpeton and spent the day with family. On Saturday night they enjoyed visiting with Matt Bruun and his friend, LaVonne Manikowski. All returned home on Sunday.

Lugard Leier and her daughter, Mary Vetter of Wahpeton flew to Las Vegas last Sunday to meet Lugard’s sister,Katie Bachman and Katie’s daughter, Carol Kozlowi of Milwaukee, Wis. It was a surprise for Katie, on her birthday. Other family who also came were Linda and Bruce Horner of Mandan, Carol and Chuck Russo and Kristy Leier of Cheyenne, Wyo. All returned to their homes on Thursday.

The Braddock Lions Club will not meet on their regular meeting night March 21. Instead they will meet with the Hazelton Club on March 25 and the District Governor will also be there.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; You are the one who gets burned.
