BREI and NDlPA training and conference in Fargo April 22-25

Keeping and expanding businesses is the least costly economic development strategy that communities can use.

Anyone interested in this topic has an opportunity this year to learn more about it by attending an international conference in Fargo that’s designed specifically for taking care of existing businesses. Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI) and the North Dakota Planning Association (NDPA) are holding their annual certification training and conference April 22-25, 2013.

This conference will be the first to combine the efforts of planning directly with the needs of existing businesses.

Early bird registration is due March 15. Hotel reservations at the conference rate of $69.30 plus tax are available until March 21. Go to http:// brei.org for registration and agenda information.

The BREI and NDPA training and conference are being coordinated by the North Dakota Extension Service Center for Community Vitality, North Dakota Department of Commerce, Business Retention and Expansion International and North Dakota Planning Association. Contact Kathleen Tweeten, Center for Community Vitality director, at kathleen.tweeten@ndsu.edu for additional information.

If you have any questions about the conference or anything else you wish to discuss, please contact me at the NDSU Extension Service in Logan County 701-754-2504 or carmen.rath.wald@ndsu.edu. I would be glad to help!
