Jon Pavlicek receives 12-13 LEA Scholarship

Jonathan Pavlicek, a student at North Dakota State University, has been selected as the recipient of the 2012-13 Linton Education Association $500 scholarship.

The annual LEA Scholarship is awarded to a former Linton High School student who is majoring in Education.

Jon plans to graduate in the spring of 2014 with a major in Physical Education and Health Education. He also plans to further his education by getting a degree in administration.

He has been active in the following areas during college: volunteer SYBA Youth Basketball Coach where he coached 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball at Ben Franklin Middle School in Fargo, Coordinator of the NDSU Adopt a School Program— Jump Rope for Heart 2013, Student Coordinator and Head of Officials at the NDSU Wallman Wellness Center and Student Referee for intramural basketball. Jon is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). He attended the NASPE national convention in Colorado where he was an honor usher for Past Presidents.

A2009 Linton High School graduate, Jon is the son of Annette and Charles Pavlicek of Linton.

LEA members for 2012- 13 are Kathy Bohle, Sandy Feist, Rhea Flyberg, James Haak, Bruce Hase, Lisa Hendrickson, Joan Hettich, Delrae Hulm, Dan Imdieke, Lori Jacob, June Larson, Melinda Mattheis, Jeanette Mausehund, Diane Nagel, Janel Nelson, Kevin Oien, Annette Pavlicek, Charles Pavlicek, Denise Pfeifer, Michelle Schumacher, Jackie Wald and Megan Wald. Charles and Annette each have been Linton Education Association members for over 30 years.
