Hague

By Ervine Nold

Last Sunday visitors of Victoria Schumacher were John and Katy Meier of Zeeland and Dennis Miller.

The KC’s had a breakfast Sunday morning and a very nice crowd was on hand.

Winners of the fireworks promotion were Duane Heer of Pollock, S.D., and Cordell Meidinger of Herreid, S.D. Winners received $20 each.

Barbara Nold left for Pierre,S.D.,March 6-10 to watch grandson,Triston while their daughter was on vacation at Florida Keys with her boyfriend. He has a house by the ocean. Friday, March 8,Triston and Barb went to our granddaughter, Sara’s, bass band concert, it was very good. Barbara got to visit with Lorraine andAlbert Ebach. They are doing very well. They have a beautiful home and it was nice to see them. The weather was so nice and we went outside for a walk. Monday, March 11, Barb took Triston to school and started back to Hague in the afternoon.

Wilbert and Karen Keller attended the Easter Cantata Performance on Sunday evening at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. It was a fitting way to begin Holy Week.

Phyllis and Bob Fischer got sad news on Sunday last week that Phyllis’sister, Rose Rohrich, had died of a stroke. Her daughter, Loretta, and my sister, Eva, found her. She has been sick for quite some time. Sorry we couldn’t attend the funeral as I wasn’t doing well and the roads over there were terrible. Brenda called us from Jamestown and told us to stay home. What a wonderful sister Rose was. She will be happy in Heaven with God.

We had to cancel Bob’s doctor appointment at Bismarck because of the weather forecast. We should have kept the appointment as the weather man got his days mixed up. It really was not his fault.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of August Roos who died Tuesday, March 19 at the Linton Hospital.

The Knights of Columbus held their annual breakfast on Palm Sunday. Even with the weather being as it was they had a fairly good crowd. Duane Fischer went for the breakfast and said it was very good.

Lisa Hulm and boys stopped in at Fischers after breakfast clean up and helped Phyllis with her project. In fact they did most of the work. It was good to have help. What nice friends, God bless them.

Happy Easter to all.
