1988 Braddock Girls’ Basketball team recognized at State



Members of the 1988 State Class B Champion Braddock Bobcats Girls’ Basketball team were recognized during halftime of the State Class B Girls’ Basketball Tournament championship game at the Fargodome on March 23. Those in attendance included Head Coach Del Svalen, Assistant Coach Todd Richter, and players Nadine Schmidt, Serena (Mock) Schmidt, Kerry Eberhart, Kim (Hager) Unruh, Sara (Leier) Giden, Sonia (Bitz) Mullably, Shelly (Moch) Stramer, Tracy (Saville) Huska, Amy (Saville) Lindgren, Clarice (Bohlin) Frazier and Sharma Hager. Special recognition went to Duane Leier (bookkeeper) and Myron Rahrich (video), who were also in attendance. In the 1988 State Class B Tournament, Braddock defeated Mohall (63-32) and Watford City (54-50) to reach the State title game for the second straight season. The Bobcats then rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final period to defeat Marion-Montpelier, 60-59, for the championship. Braddock finished the year with a 26-1 record.
