Wanda M. Fiechtner, 50, of Red Wing, Minn.

Wanda Fiechtner Wanda Fiechtner “Walking Wanda” took her last steps on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home, after a two year bout with brain cancer.

She was born Oct. 31, 1962 in Bismarck to Eugene and Viola (Vetter) Gefroh. She graduated from high school in Strasburg.

On Sept. 9, 1989, she married Robert Fiechtner and they lived in Bismarck. They moved to Red Wing, Minn., in 1995. While in Red Wing, Wanda worked at the Red Wing Stoneware Company.

She and Robert enjoyed traveling to Jamaica, a place they had been to several times, and more than anything,

Wanda liked to walk and walk and walk.........

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Red Wing; her parents, Eugene and Viola Gefroh of Hague; five siblings, Lori (Adrian) IntVeldt of Hague, Carrie (Todd) Nieuwsma of Herreid, S.D., Sara Gefroh of Lincoln, Glen (Lori) Gefroh of Linton and Steve (Lynette) Gefroh of Strasburg and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson- Mahn Chapel, Red Wing.

Burial will be at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan at a later date.
