Three Emmons County players selected to 2013 All-District 6 Girls Basketball squad

McKenna Flyberg and Kaidra Larson of Linton-HMB; and Courtney Bubach of Strasburg-Zeeland were each selected to the 2012-13 All-District 6 Girls’ Basketball team.

Flyberg, a junior, averaged 12.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest this year for Linton-HMB. She led the team with 301 points, 149 rebounds, 46 three-pointers and 42 steals, and she was second on the team with 67 assists. Flyberg shot 36 percent (102-284) from the field and 68 percent (51-75) from the stripe. Flyberg is a first-time All-District 6 selection, and she is the daughter of Brian and Rhea Flyberg of Linton.

Larson, a junior, averaged 8.1 points, 5 rebounds, 2.1assists and 1.3 steals per game this season for Linton-HMB. She was second on the team in rebounds (119), and third on the team in scoring (194 pts.) and assists (51) to go along with 31 steals. Larson shot 46 percent (84-182) from the floor and 67 percent (26-39) from the line this season. Larson is a first-time All-District 6 selection, and she is the daughter of Tad and Elise Larson of Linton.

Bubach, a sophomore, averaged 7.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season for Strasburg-Zeeland. Bubach led the team with 172 points and 39 steals, and she was third on the team with 106 rebounds and 43 assists, to go along with 14 three-pointers. Bubach shot 36 percent (66- 185) from the floor and 61 percent (26-43) from the free throw line. Bubach is a firsttime All-District 6 selection, and she is the daughter of Robert and Chris Bubach of Strasburg.

Remaining members of the 2013 All-District team were Sheridon Dewald, Kendra Weigel and Mariah Jangula of Napoleon; Kalli Scherbenske and Madison Schnabel of South Border; and Morgan Rohrich, Mary Nicholson and Sadie Rohrich of Kidder County.

Sheridon Dewald of Napoleon was selected as the 2013 District 6 Outstanding Senior Athlete, and Darcy Lehr of Napoleon was selected as the 2013 District 6 Coach of the Year.
