Linton Education Association hosts 5th Annual Acalympics Competition
Fifteen schools participated in both the Senior High and Junior High Divisions. Teams includedAshley (Advisor Jason Schmidt), Gackle-Streeter (Advisor Kurt Hayes), Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (Advisor Darcie Dykema), Kidder County-Steele (Advisor Randy Sand), Kidder County-Tappen (Advisor Tom Six), Kulm (Advisor Derrick Bopp), Linton (Advisor Sandra Meidinger), McClusky (Advisor Roberta Netzloff), Napoleon (Advisor Robert Dietchman), Shiloh Christian (Advisor Nate Speidel), Strasburg (Advisor Robert Bubach), Turtle Lake- Mercer (Advisor Diane Cullum), Wing (Advisors Wanda Mehlhoff and Jeanette Fox), Wishek (Advisor Melissa Dalke) and Zeeland (Advisor Donavon Bender).
In the Senior High Division I, Shiloh Christian (Adam Meuchel, Taylor Crokers, Janell Legried, Elliott Stone, Seth Glasser and A.J. Dale) claimed first place with 41 points. Kidder County-Steele (Kaden Schmidt, Nick Thompson, Jordan Mayer, Jon Walker, Brad Kasper and Jamie Blotter) placed 2nd in Division I with 33 points, and Wishek (Ben Schuler, Tyler Toepke- Floyd, Grace Schuler, Taylor Ketterling, Aaron Weber and Blake Bosch) placed 3rd with 32. Strasburg placed 4th with 31 points;Ashley, Linton and Napoleon tied for 5th place with 26 points each, and Turtle Lake-Mercer finished with 25 points.
Senior High team members for Strasburg were Emme Hulm, Emily Luebke, Holly Krumm, Kellie Tougas, Jennifer Wikenheiser and Trent Mattern. Linton Senior High team members were Jonathon Purintun, Brooks Flyberg, Jace Ferderer, Anna Vander Laan, McKenna Flyberg and Kaidra Larson.
Zeeland (Seth Aberle, Casondra Rutschke, Mikayla Meidinger, Elisabeth Bender, Jessica Fetzer and Rebecca Meier) captured top honors in Senior High Division II with 31 points, followed by H-M-B (Logan Carpenter, Shantel Bender, Jessica Kleinsasser, Hannah Jangula, Sierra Rath and Kaitlyn Robinson) with 29, and Gackle-Streeter (Zach Meyer, Lane Kleingartner, Samantha Batsch, Cory Koenig, Nathan Dahl and Sierra Owen) with 23. Kulm placed 4th with 23 points, followed by Wing (20), McClusky (15) and Kidder County-Tappen (10).
Linton (Jordan Hulm, Anthony Schumacher, Sienna Bosch, Kyle Masset, Tanner Sehn and Cole Vander Laan) captured 1st place in Junior High Division I with 31points, while Strasburg (Victorya Dykema, Alissa Leier, Sarah Eberle, Cody McBride, Shantel Lang and Taylor Krumm) placed 2nd with 25 points. Ashley (Katie Schmidt, Addie Schnabel, Noah Stickel, Morgan Gallagher, Brooke Gilstad and Philip Meidinger) came in 3rd with 25 points, followed by Shiloh Christian and Turtle Lake-Mercer (21 points apiece); Napoleon (20),Wishek (19) and Kidder County-Steele (18).
McClusky (Levi Larson, Jewel Faul,Arika Werth, Kody Faul, Alexander Naser and Lucas Rath) scored 26 points to come away with 1st place in Junior High Division II. Gackle-Streeter (Jennifer Ova, Dylan Rudolph, John Gutschmidt, Seth Homola, Mackenzie Heflin and Jason Homola) was the runner-up in Division II with 23 points, and Zeeland (Hope Ebel, Jesse Jangula, Marissa Meidinger, Jenny Kocher and Tiffany Meier) placed 3rd with 23 points. Other teams in Division II were Wing (21), Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (21), Kidder County-Tappen (14) and Kulm (12). Team members for H-M-B were LaurenAman, Makenna Reich, Lance Weiser, Jordan Towne, Lindsey Aman and Christian Brown.
