Marion F. Vossler, 85, of Wishek
Marion, daughter of Philip and Fredericka (Ritter) Burlack was born Jan. 22, 1928, at Burnstad. She was raised on the family farm 13 miles NW of Wishek and received her elementary education in rural Logan County schools. Marion graduated from Wishek High School in 1945.
Marion went on to nurses training at the Bismarck Hospital, where she received her RN Degree in 1948. From 1948 to 1951, she attended the University of North Dakota. Marion served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1972. She received her anesthetist training at Letterman Army Hospital at San Francisco, Calif. Following her discharge she worked with the CARE organization in Central
America, for two years in Belize. Marion returned to the U.S. and attended Hoffman Electrolysis Institute.
She then returned home to Wishek where she began her employment at the Wishek Hospital in 1976 retiring in 1991. Marion married Alvin Vossler on April 22, 1977 at Wishek.
Marion was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, the Ladies Quilting group and a long-standing member of the Wishek Ambulance Squad.
Marion is survived by two sisters, Erma Zavilowitz, Montrose, N.Y. and Eileen Ketterling, Wishek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, two brothers, Benjamin and John, two sisters, Alma Heupel and Arleen Krein.
The memorial service will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
