Strasburg’s Bubach qualifies for state during Lisbon Meet

Strasburg’s Courtney Bubach placed in four individual events during the Glen Moore Track Meet in Lisbon on April 26.

Bubach, a sophomore, accounted for all 26 of the Lady Clipper’s points in the Girls’ Division. Bubach captured the title in the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 1 inch, and she placed 5th in the pole vault (8' 0").

Bubach also placed third in both the 100-meter (:16.91) and 300-meter (:47.98) hurdle events, and her time in the 300-meter hurdles was good enough to qualify for state, as were the times of cham- pion Shaice Marx (:47.56) of Thompson, and runner-up Maartje VanBedaf (:47.82) of Carrington.

Natalie Jones (:15.21) of Lisbon and VanBedaf (:16.39) each qualified to state in the 100-meter hurdles, while Jocelyn Dinius of Langdon and Mackenzie Einarson of Grafton each scaled 9' 0" in the pole vault to qualify for state in the event.

Carrington won the Girls’ team title with 119 points, followed by Lisbon (96), Hillsboro (61), Langdon (57) and Thompson (54). Strasburg finished in 8th place in the 25-team field.
