Band plays free concert in Hazelton
On Sat., April 6, Seven Day Jones, an original band, came to Hazelton to put on a free concert in the H-M-B High School Gymnasium. Seven Day Jones, based out of Bismarck, travels to small towns throughout North Dakota and surrounding states to perform concerts in schools. The band, who writes their own songs, plays primarily Christian rock music that targets the youth. They started out the night with a dance off. Toward the end, a short message was given that explained to the students how much Jesus loves them and that no matter what they do, He will always love them. A banner, with hundreds of names written on it, was placed by the front of the stage. Each person attending the concert had an opportunity to sign the banner and pledge to Live Different, which symbolized taking the step to having Christ in their lives and living different than the rest of their peers. After the concert, several kids stayed to visit with the band members. Seven Day Jones hopes to return to Hazelton later in the year for an outdoor concert.
Seven Day Jones band members are, left to right, Jan Testroet, Cody Testroet, Paul Christensen and Chris Lippert.
