EC Interagency holds children’s Fun Fair
The Emmons County Interagency held its 7th Annual children’s Fun Fair in the Linton Elementary Gymnasium on April 20. Several booths were set up by various organizations, and snacks were available throughout the event. Milk was donated by the Midwest Dairy Assocation District 4, and cheese sticks were donated by DairiConcepts of Pollock, S.D. The event was co-chaired by Michelle Masset, Janelle Ferderer and Tammi Sannes. Sixty-four children attended the fair. Above, Bounceland was a big hit at the event. Rick Masset monitors the number of kids who could be inside at one time.

Mark and Fran Heidrich (left) worked at the Linton Hospital Foundation booth, which featured a bean bag toss with prizes. Charlie Sannes (son of Paul and Tammi Sannes) takes a shot at winning a prize, as Kaden Masset (son of Rick and Michelle Masset) waits his turn.
Another hit at the Fun Fair was the Emmons County 4-H Archery booth. Instructor Dan Henderson (left) helps out Mary Baumgartner (daughter of Allan and Amanda Baumgartner), while Ryan Kelsch helps out Aspen Ehley (daughter of Wayne and Maren Ehley).
Michelle Masset (right), co-chairperson of the EC Interagency Fun Fair, registered children and distributed “goodie” bags at the door. Also in the photo are Rachal, Connor and Larry Umber, children of Larry and Julie Umber.
Maren Ehley (left) had mathematics games and puzzles available at the booth for Activities for Learning. Michael Bosch, Jr. works on one of the puzzles, as his mother, Michelle, looks on.
A truck from the Linton Fire Department was available during the Fun Fair. Firefighter Paul Sannes (right) and his son, Jack, gave children tours of the truck, let them run the intercom system and suit up in firefighter gear. Here, Gianna Caruso (daughter of Rico and Becky Caruso) tries on the full firefighter uniform.
Co-Chairperson Tammi Sannes (right) and her son, Will (not pictured), worked at the snack table during the Emmons County Interagency’s Fun Fair. Above, Sannes visits with Annie Masset (holding her son, Parker).
Casondra Rutschke, the 2013 Miss Northern Light’s Outstanding Teen, was at the Emmons County 4-H booth to help kids make crafts. Casondra is the daughter of Jerome and Dorinda Rutschke of Zeeland. Also pictured is Rory Mueller, daughter of Matt and Amy Mueller.
The Harry L. Petrie Library’s booth offered free books to children during the fair. Librarian Carla Frison (right) visits with (from left) Brody, Makayla and Madison Ptacek. They are the children of Jon and Lisa Ptacek.
