On Wednesday night, the Hull Christian Reformed Church had a special congregational meeting and a unanimous vote was cast to have Pastor Paul Stout continue to serve the Hull and Westfield churches.

The Ladies Aid Society met on Thursday afternoon with Pastor Stout leading the Bible lesson and Marge Dykema was the hostess and Frances Nieuwsma gave a special number.

Congratulations to Amanda and Brian Dykema of Bismarck on the birth of a baby boy on April 30.

Garin and Layton Dykema of Bismarck, sons of Brian and Amanda Dykema, were weekendguestsoftheirgrandparents, Gary and Berdene Dykema. Their granddaughter, Becky Lauinger of Strasburg, daughter of Amy and Jerry Lauinger, was also an overnight guest.

Last week Friday guests of Elmer and Phyllis Haak were Berniece Wester and Gertrude Nieuwsma of Bismarck; Jean Van Beek and Carol and Eldon Nelson from Linton. On Saturday, guests of the Haak’s were Melvin and Marcella Van Beek from Fargo. It was a late birthday gathering in honor of Phyllis’s birthday.

The Hull Church was in charge of the Chapel service at the Strasburg Care Center on Sunday afternoon. It was a communion service and Curt Nieuwsma, an elder, served the communion and Barb Nieuwsma was the pianist for the service.

Ron and Tiffany Vander Wal of Garretson, S.D., and their son, David Alexander, were Saturday overnight guests of Ron’s aunt, Mardell and Bruce Ochsner and family. On Sunday noon, Jim Hollaar and Tyler and Lisa Ochsner of Herreid, S.D., were dinner guests of the Bruce and Mardell Ochsner family.
