Andy and Joan Schmidt went to Bismarck on Saturday for the wedding of Jenna Bondley and Nathan Ahohen at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. Jenna is the granddaughter of John and Phyllis Schmidt and John is Andy’s brother. Andy and Joan were overnight guests at the Dennis and Laura Dockter home. Other guests were Maverick and Brody of Dickinson. Dan Schmidt of Bismarck also stopped in to wish his mom a happy Mother’s Day.
Pastor David led the prayers and Mary Bruun conducted the meeting when St. Katherine’s Christian Mothers Altar Society met after the Rogation Day Mass on Tuesday evening. Several subjects were discussed. Plans are to have the carpets cleaned and paint the kitchen. Refreshments were served by Joan Schmidt.

Andy and Joan Schmidt went to Bismarck on Thursday for a special event of testing at the American Taekwondo Association (ATA). Olivia Schmidt, daughter of Darren and Rona Schmidt received her Black Belt. Others who came for this special event and the gathering at the Schmidt home later to help celebrate were grandparents, Becky and Heinie Stein of McClusky, Olivia’s sisters, Alix Almer and Brittany Carroll and her fiance, Andrew. Also Dave Schmidt,Anthony Levingston, and Andrea and Curt Dockter. Dave and Andrea are Olivia’s godparents. Good job Livi!
Toni Hager went to LaMoure on Saturday for the First Holy Communion and Confirmation of her grandson, Dalton Madcke. All gathered at Sherri and Kent Madcke’s for lunch.

“Give me a sentence about a public servant,” asked a teacher. The small boy wrote, “The fireman came down the ladder pregnant.” The teacher asked,“Don’t you know what pregnant means?” Sure the boy confidently said. “It means carrying a child.”
