Braddock

Carol Mock attended the graduation party of her granddaughter, Jade Carolyn Mari at Fargo on Sunday. Jade is the daughter of Lynne Marie and Dr. John Mari. Others attending were Gary and Dean Mock, The Jay and Dawn Mock family, and The Cindy and Pat Sahli family of Minneapolis, Minn. Carol accompanied the Sahlis to the Cities for a weeks vacation and then flew home. The South Central Transit picked her up at the Bismarck Airport. Many other friends and relatives also attended the reception for Jade.

Victor Wald entertained at the Napoleon Care Center on Monday. The residents really enjoyed the accordion music with singing and dancing.

The Relay for Life and cancer program was well attended as many coming from neighboring cities that enjoyed the evening too.

On Wednesday, May 29 Lori and Lugard Leier drove to Bismarck to pick up Annette Leier and Frank Ecstice who flew in from Anchorage, Alaska. The family then gathered at Bruce and Linda Horner’s in Mandan to visit and have some saucy meatballs before they drove to the Braddock farm.

Monday visitors of Toni Hager were Joe and Elaine Mathern, Bismarck; Theresa Lacher, Williston; Dorothy Heilman, Bismarck. They are Toni’s uncle and aunts.

Lugard Leiers children gathered to attend Tyler and Jennifer York’s wedding on May 31 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bismarck with the reception held at the Ramkota. Howard and Marsha Leier hosted a barbeque on Saturday for a family gathering to share with the bride and groom.

Hilda Mock and Pete and Mary Ellen Naaden were hosts when the Braddock Senior Citizens met for their noon meal and the Health Maintenance Clinic on Monday, June 3. Andy Schmidt conducted the business meeting and led the Pledge to the Flag.

Lugard Leier’s family members in attendance for the Leier-York wedding from out of town were Sara and Dave Gerdon of Fargo, Mary and Kevin Vetter of Wahpeton and Katie Vetter of Bismarck; Carol and Chuck Russo and Kristy Leier of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Annette Leier and Frank Enstice of Anchorage; Joe and Tiffany Moore and family and Joyce Moore of Aberdeen, S.D.; Crista and Tyler Walz of Sartell, Minn.; and Sydney Leier of California. Allan and Diane Leier of Bismarck hosted a family dinner on Tuesday June 4, for more visiting with the out-of-towners.

Sandy Baumgartner, Kerry Swanson and Lindsey and Lauren Aman, Arleen Svalen and Andy Schmidt planted flowers in all of the tubs on Wednesday. The Economic Development also planted a couple trees and planted some Hostas around the Community Hall. Good job, everyone!

George Bohlin’s sisters Marge Eslinger and Lucille Shea of Bismarck and his niece Norma had dinner at George’s one day last week. Enroute home they stopped for refreshments at Hager’s Bar because George only serves coffee! They also visited St. Katherine’s cemetery.

Lack of will power and drive cause more failures than lack of intelligence and ability.
