June 14, 2003 (LINTON) —Eighty-four golfers participated in the 4th Annual Jodi Jahner-Mosset Memorial Golf Tournament at the Linton Country Club. The team of Chris Bosch, Tom St. Peter and Gary Funston won the championship with a -7, and the runner-up (-4) was the team of Mel Jahner, Troy Jochim and Mark Weiler. Tying for third place were the team of Bob Petrick, Megan Jahner and Larry Kramer; and the team of Justin Jahner, Gerald Jacob and David Beck. The team of Tim Volk, Chuck Picard and Nikki Jahner won Horserace #1, and the team of Tom Jahner, Katie Carr and Dennis Beck won Horserace #2.

June 11- 12, 1993 (MANDAN)—A girls’ basketball team consisting of players from Emmons and Stark Counties qualified for the Prairie Rose State Games by winning the Grades 9-10 Division title at the region level. The team defeated a sophomore team from Mandan (48-43 and 51-42) in a best-of-three series for the title. Members of the team included Sarah Weisser, Jaime Bauman and Jami Ogren, all of Linton; Mary Ternes of Strasburg, and Sarah Schatz, Val Herold and Jessica Fullerton, all of New England.

June17,1983(LINTON)— The Linton Legion Baseball team swept a doubleheader from the Bismarck Scarlets by identical scores of 7-6. In the opener, Linton scored 3 times in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase a 6-4 deficit. Jon Richter, who had two hits in the game, rapped a 2-run single to put Linton on top to stay. Paul Horner had 3 hits for Linton, while Jeff Skibicki and Mark Hummel had two hits apiece for Bismarck. In the nightcap, Horner stole third base, and came home on an error on the pick-off attempt in the final inning to give Linton a 7-6 victory. Horner and Mark Vetter each had a pair of hits for Linton, and Martin Weichel and Rod Becker collected two hits apiece for the Scarlets.
