St. Anthony’s Youth holds fund-raiser



The St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Youth served walking tacos and held a bake sale in the St. Anthony’s Church basement during Dairy & Ag Days on Friday, June 7. The event was a fund-raiser to help cover expenses to attend Steubenville Youth Conference in St. Paul, Minn. Over 300 people were served, and the Catholic Order of Foresters matched the funds raised. Sue Schumacher and Shar Nagel organized the fund-raiser, and other adults who helped with the meal and bake sale were Rhea Flyberg, Jackie Schlosser, Mary Ann Vetter, Laura Jochim and Kate Holzer. Members of the Linton High School chapters of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) held a Schwan’s fund-raiser during Dairy & Ag Days on Friday, June 7. Anyone who pre-ordered items could pick them up, and Schwan’s also had a second truck available for anyone who wished to participate in the fund-raiser throughout the day. The fund-raiser was used to defray costs for students to attend national conferences this summer. Mrs. Jackie Wald is the Linton High School FCCLA Advisor, and Megan Martell, Anna Vetter, Jessica Salwei and Heather Lauinger qualified for the FCCLA National Convention July 5-10, in Nashville, Tenn.
